| Aqualight
was the first baby swim school in Northamptonshire founded
in 2001, by Emmaline Kitson
Aqualight babies are passionate about helping you and
baby get the most out of your early time together. There
are no short term goals at Aqualight Babies because
we aim for a lifetime of love and enjoyment of the water.
Baby's swimming are the by-product of how we work in
the water.
Aqualight Babies helps your baby to swim, be safe and
have fun in the water. We teach you, as parents, how
to read your baby’s cues and understand what they
are saying to you with their body language and facial
expression.
We are involved in new research on different
aspects of baby development social emotional and physical,Research
has shown that babies who swim are far better developed
socially, mentally and physically. It has also been
shown that babies who exercise regularly have improved
sleeping and eating patterns.
We relate the Yoga principles of Balance,
Awareness and Harmony
to provide an holistic approach to your baby’s
development in the water. This will allow your baby
to have the freedom in the water to learn how to swim
naturally. Safety has a strong focus in our teaching
and your baby will learn vital life saving techniques
within a safe environment.
The Aqualight Babies program emphasizes the fact that
your baby is free in the water and working at their
own pace, this allows your child to develop their confidence
in the water before they have a chance to develop any
fear of it.
We invite you to come and see one of our classes and
decide for yourselves. We are sure that you will be
impressed with the sight of babies as young as 15 months
of age swimming, with no aids to support them. Most
babies will swim unaided between 18m to 24m.
I would like to share with you a poem I hope you like
it.
Before I was a Mum
Before I was a Mum,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mum,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mum,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mum,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mum...
Before I was a Mum,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mum,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mum.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mum
